Cold!

It's too cold to be outside...so we have been spending all our time indoors. We have seen a few animals outside our window as well as some birds that we are trying to identify. I bought a field guide to North American birds that we are using for this purpose. F has been researching his planets and writing in his 'planets' book, and concentrating on double digit addition/subtraction. We have also been playing this card game that we bought in PA a few months back, called Professor Noggins, it's one of the many card games, this one is on the American Revolution. So far F has won all games. I am so proud of him because he is really interested in American History and is doing really well. J has been 'reading' her princess books on her leap pad. She loves all the different sounds the animals make in Snow White. She has really taken an interest in reading since I've started home schooling F. I am so glad. A has always been interested in books, since she was an infant.
F has also taken a keen interest in nutrition and has been religiously reading food labels, I have to remind him that the important thing is to have a balanced diet and be healthy. We have been discussing healthy eating in this house for a while, and now J is getting into it too. I want my kids to have a positive attitude about the foods they eat and to understand how to eat healthy. I added more links to this blog for sites that we use frequently for our studies as well as some sites to museums in nyc. I am still working on designing this blog to my taste.
