Wow, I'm still a little in awe of how some things just happen... this past Friday I went to do laundry at my local laundromat and just happened to start a conversation with another home schooling mom. She lives 2 blocks from my house, in the very building that we moved out of 3 years ago. She also has 3 kids who are each my kids' ages too. She is not part of any hs group so we would have never met otherwise!
We talked for a little while and found that we have a lot in common, and exchanged phone numbers. :)
I can't wait to get together and go do activities and play dates.
The kids spent the weekend with grandma, and they loved it! we got much needed alone time for 2 nights, I finally organized/threw out papers and did some cleaning. We also got a lot of b-day shopping done(for J, F and for our grandson K).
We picked them up this morning and went to the park by the beach in Prince's Bay, the weather was perfect for flying a kite, all three kids got a chance to fly it, J loved it! We also took a walk on the shore and threw rocks into the water. The area is a preserved ecosystem, F learned something about the kinds of animals that live there. We came home and looked up ecosystems on enchanted learning and F did a work page on Ohio's state flag.
We have also been reading a library book about cat mummies, and Egypt.
J is getting much better at the different drawings that she likes to do, and she is reading so much more in the past few months. She loves being read to and she likes to point out the letter P in everything.
The weather should be nice all week so we have plans for the park :)
