Mommy of 4 :)

Well I was a mommy of 4 today... I baby sat my best friend's 4 mos. old son today, their baby sitter fell through. He is soo cute.. so needless to say we did not get any hs done today. F did some puzzles on his own, but mostly he played with blocks and built all these different things and helped with the baby. The girls helped a lot too, by playing with the baby and talking to him and keeping him company. It was great to see them all coming together and helping.
On Saturday me and F went to the South Street Seaport Museum and saw the fighting Irish exhibit as well as the museums' ship exhibit, complete with a lot of model ships. We got to learn more about the role of steam ships in the early 1900's as well as about Irish immigrants. It was very interesting and F really liked it. We stayed for the Moon Magic class which was great. He got to learn through a hands on activity (involving play dough)about the moon, earth and sun and how they interact. Then he learned about the phases of the moon, how the moon affects our earth and the seasons. It was an hour long and we really had fun, I am very glad he got the chance to attend. We then went to the Seaport and looked at the big ships in the harbor, and built a snow man with all the snow that fell on Friday. We had a nice mom and F day, went to lunch, bought a small flag from Spain and took the train home.

We have been doing a lot of learning about Spain this week, he is particularly interested in the animals that live there.
Sunday F decided he wanted to make flags so he took some paper, scissors and crayons and went to work. He made a few of them, of Puerto Rico and Vietnam. He picked them. :)
He has been studying his USA states puzzle and so far he got the capitals to 47 states right. Like I always say practice makes perfect :) We also have been reading every day and now that the weather has finally seemed to calm down have a few activities coming up in the next few days.
