J's creativity is flowing lately :) I bought diapers on line and it got delivered in a big box, which usually the kids draw on and then it gets thrown out the next day. Not this time, she decided that she wanted to do a puppet show out of it. She had us cut a little window on one side, drew on the outside and got all her puppets and has done a few 'shows' daily for us. She loves it and I love being part of her audience, she made all her puppets sing and talk and play patty cake etc..... she is also drawing more pictures, especially of her family. She is also getting better at recognizing all of her numbers from 1 to 10.
We had the 1st Around the world club on Friday, I took F and my DH stayed with the girls. We studied Peru and bought a vegetarian dish made with pumpkin... it went really good for a first time meeting. We had about 25 ppl show up including kids of all ages. We had presentations covering all areas of Peru from the weather to the food. I was proud of my son because he was really nervous seeing all those ppl but he still read his report and did a good job. The food was really good as well. Afterwards we stayed for the science club and saw a volcano erupt and some pond water thru a microscope. Then F played with his friends C, J and M.
We didn't get home until late afternoon and I came home to a clean house :) my DH cleaned up completely..it was so great...the girls love staying with him and are getting so much more closer to him since me and F have been doing a lot of trips by ourselves. It gives us some mom and son time as well as allow us to do our activities with out being interrupted by 2 little adorable girls.
Today we went to J's dance class then off to the Brooklyn Aquarium to see the sharks who are 'angry at me' according to J. :) We had a nice time until it started to rain... J was sitting down for story time there and it just started to rain. We ended up cutting our trip a little short...not by much though. The kids still had a nice time.
Came home and watched the second half of the Civil war DVD, read from the 'what if you were there' civil war book, and discussed some of the reasons for the war. We will learn abt this war for the next few months and then move on to the next one.
