Sick

I just thougth I'd check in and write a few lines... we have been sick here since a few days ago.. me and F got sick last night but J's been a little sick since Friday.... it's a cold so it'll pass soon enough hopefully.

Needless to say we haven't done much as far as home schooling this week, F spent the weekend with my mom, had a great time, went to a carnival won 3 goldfish, ate ice cream, played mini golf, got a few Lego's etc.... :) he loves to be with my mom, he also got to open his b day present which was a train set that he really liked.

Saturday we went to J's dance class and then did food shopping. J has been doing a lot of spelling exercises and learning her letters and their sounds on the computer. The girls enjoyed some time without their brother (although J cried when he left on Friday) and did a lot of drawing and making hand things, they like to draw their hands on paper and make animals out of them. They did an octopus, bunnies and other cute animals.

I have been reading a little bit about the Charlotte Mason method of home schooling and ordered a few living books for F and I to read. I got Around the world in 80 days by Jules Verne who seems to be one of F's favorite authors, he really likes the adventure stories he writes. He has even been inspired to write a few very short cartoon like stories himself. He is working on his spelling this way among others.

Once we get a little better we will start reading about Lewis and Clark and the Louisiana purchase.
