Vietnam

We had our monthly geography class on Friday. The kids helped me make Vietnamese scallion cakes, they were really good, even if they were fried. We decided we will make them again some day for dinner.
The kids did their reports and then presented them to our small group, they both did a god job. J presented her Asian Elephant report and told everyone how they are endangered and why. F did his on the climate of Vietnam. Afterwards we stayed to play and the kids had fun building, pretending to be cats (J and her friend F) and playing various games, drawing and just loving being together. A and her daddy spent the few hours being together, he took her out for pizza and then came home and played with her. After about 2 1/2 hours came to pick us up.
We made plans to get together more often now that Spring is coming.

Wednesday we took the train to J's friend's b day party at a Pizza/Cajun restaurant. The kids got to make their own pizzas, complete with their own toppings, J and A had broccoli and F had olives. A was so cute, she put large pieces or broccoli all over her small pie, she put so much you couldn't see the pie anymore. What can I say? she loves her broccoli :)
There were about 10 children there and they all got along pretty well. J was so excited to go, she made F (her friend) a b day card and helped pick out her present when we were in PA.
After the party we walked to the book store, bought a few books. F got the latest Wimpy kid book which he paid for himself. I also bought him a biography book on 3 presidents, and Sponge bob Square pants chapter book. On our way home J had to use the bathroom really bad.... figures.. so we go off abt 13 blocks from our house and went to the library and used their facilities. Of course on the way home it got really windy, started raining and got cold.... we were soo tired, we walked so much and it was pretty cold and miserable out but the kids had fun and that made it worth it.
