books and more books

F has had a renewed interest in reading magic tree house books so we decided to go to the book store and buy as much as we could. :)
We ended up with about 15 of them, and 1 book for A and a wooden model for F to build.

Now F has more than 30 of the books. I love having a home schoolers discount. I saved about $19. We are now starting with the 1st book and J is also listening in now as well.

F has also done one word problem math sheet every day. Each page has about 12 problems on it, practice makes perfect. Science is being covered daily as well one way or another. Either by watching a DVD on extinct animals, looking up various trees in the Tree identifier book, reading the Wildlife animal and Birds books, and daily discussions.

While we were doing our errands today, which included a pizza and park break, F told me that he'd like to be an Archaeologist who digs up artifacts and puts them together. He has never really had an idea about what he would like to be when he grew up and i was happy to hear that he now at least has some sort of a plan. So on our next trip to the library we will check out some books about it and in the next few weeks try to take a trip to Philly where they have a lab where they display to the public all the various pieces of pots and other things they recently found underneath lots and buildings in the area from the 1700's. They have a few archaeologists working there putting them back together or as much as they can.

It's be a good opportunity for him to talk to then people in charge and find out more info.

The last dance class until the summer was last Saturday and we got to sit inside the studio and watch the girls dance. We did not take the class during the winter months so we have not had the chance to see J dance since December. She has grown a lot in her ability to move and really be creative, and graceful in her dancing. She really made me look at her in a different way as far as her abilities go with her dancing. I know she loves to dance but now she is more in tune with her body and can listen to the music and move her body appropriately with the melody.

A is also very good and she concentrates well and tries her hardest and is so cute. We had a discussion about her continuing to dance over the summer and she did not want to but after talking with her teacher we decided to put her back in with the younger girls because it is too hard for her to try and keep up with the older gilrs. thsi class all the girls are at least 2 yrs older than her so it is not a good fit. A agreed to try one class with the little girls, she does not see herself as a little girl as far as dance goes so she does not want to be with them. She says and I have noticed too that some of them are not ready for a structured class and have no attention span and are not as interested in listening and dancing as much as A is and they distract her. But every class is different and we will try it out and see how it goes this time around.
