Today was a good day for homeschooling, we did math, reading, grammar for both J and F and a science experiment with leaves.
We also took a walk to the farmers market about 12 blocks away and got some fresh carrots, potatoes, zucchini, corn on the cob and onions. Made salmon, boiled potatoes, corn and green beans for dinner. Oh so good, and I love knowing that I am showing my children how good eating healthy is. We can actually taste the difference between store bought vegetables and farm fresh ones, I love it!
Yesterday, after a science lesson, and a spelling test for both kids, we took a walk to return F's shoes... 30 or so blocks away. We stopped at the playground and collected leaves. Braved the wind.. it was abt. 40 miles an hour at times but still nice and warm so no complaints. Couldn't get a refund on the shoes cuz I had no receipt and was not about to get less than half price back when they are still brand new and never worn. So I will keep them for the grandson once he grows into them. So the day was not lost I bought F a new pair of shoes and his winter boots. It was a nice day and I love spending it the way I prefer.
J is reading and writing daily now. We also have been doing some geography and she likes drawing flags of the world from F's 2009 world almanac book. Every time we read about any new country I show her where it is on the map.
Tuesday I ended up taking F to the Dr. 'cuz his stomach was still bothering him since Saturday morning. We are pretty sure he had a stomach virus but it never got that bad. We wanted to be sure it wasn't something else, which it seem not to be as far as the test results. Not much home schooling got done Monday or Tuesday 'cuz of his stomach.
Poor kid was living on bread and crackers and some soup for a few days.
Saturday J had her dance class and then a short play date with one of her friends. She loves to dance so much.....
