I am the mom of a US army soldier... wow.. to say that out loud and to put that in writing is overwhelming... I didn't know how proud I would feel of her. She wrote us a letter and told us all about how a typical day goes for her.... and how much she likes it, even though it's hard. She is so determined to be all she can be and take the discipline which will make her a better person.
My heart is scared for her, I try not to think abt. what could happen in the next few years.. and just think of how happy she is and how much she wants this.
Her father is so proud.. he calls her private V.(for her last name) lol.
She told me to tell her brother and sisters that their big sister is a soldier :). Of course A is fascinated by that and wants to know what she will do as a soldier.. I try to be honest but not too honest.. my baby is only almost 5 after all....
I feel like going to SC and taking her in my arms and keeping her safe and just loving her like she should be loved.... but I know this is good for her.
