We started our first day of learning about Puerto Rican history. We went to the library and borrowed a book on Puerto Rico and it's history, people and customs. It's a topic that is dear to our family since DH was born in Puerto Rico and came here with his family about 44 years ago. We will be doing a very in depth study of all things Puerto Rican, including the food :).
The girls will be drawing and writing various facts in their notebooks, and F will do a more in depth report on several subtopics.
We also did some math today as well as numerous errands this morning.
On Friday morning we took F and A to my moms' house and then drove to PA with J. We decided to spend the night there and come back Saturday afternoon for a semi vacation. DH got a gift card for Christmas from his company and we decided to put it toward a hotel stay and 1 meal in PA. We had such a great time, J and DH swam in the pool, J actually swam by herself in the pool with only her arm floaters on. At first she was nervous but then she was loving it.. DH swap in front of her just to make sure she was OK. We got some great Amish food, played in the playground, and did our usual shopping. It was cold but not too cold and the snow made everything look so beautiful and even more peaceful than it already is.
Neither of us wanted to come back :).
F and A had a good time at my mom's house. F came home with an activity/crossword book and worked in it all day Sunday. He did quite a few Sudoku puzzles, crosswords, and other brain teaser word puzzles.
