We have moved into our new apt. (which we love). We are still getting organized and cleaning up and putting away boxes of stuff... we have a LOT of stuff....but we also have room for everything now and it'll be so much more organized once it's finished. I am so happy with the lay out and all the extra space. We took a little break from home schooling and are now getting started again slowly... F did a few math pages, some grammar pages, and some writing. Lots of computer time and Lego time.
With the second big snow storm of February, the first being 3 days before we moved.. we are relaxing and hanging out at home a little more than usual. The kids love all the big snow, and with a little back yard space now they can go outside and play in private. So far we have about 12 inches of snow and it's still falling.
J has had a renewed interest in reading the last few days. She has made major improvements in the last few months. I have to admit there were a few moments there when I was worried she'd never get it.. it's taken her longer than it took F to learn how to read. but then I remind myself that F was in PS for K and part of 1st grade and receiving phonics instruction daily and had to read whether he wanted to or not. Since J has never been in school she is allowed to lead her own way and take her time and follow her interests. last night we laid in her bed and she read Dr. Seuss's Hop on Pop pretty much all by herself, and only asked me about a few words. I was so proud of her, as was she of herself. She knows that she did it all on her own, with a lot of input from me when she needed it.
