DH and the girls made home made pizza today for lunch. DH has made pizza before at work a while ago and it was always very very good, so I left it up to him to make this one. The girls think he is the coolest dad ever and loved helping him. We put some broccoli and some mushrooms and baked it for 20 minutes. It was deff. one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten, the best was the ones DH used to make at work with his fresh dough, and bring home for us to eat for dinner. The whole thing from dough to last ingredient cost us about $5, which is $8 cheaper than ordering out. I think we'll do this more often.. any way to save money is good :).
This year we are going to do things greener, even more economical, and earth conscious. That means more home made food (even more than what we already do) no new items; except for personal care items, (only pre owned) to reduce all the refuse being thrown out and going into landfills, and the less we buy the more $ we'll have for outings, and filed trips.
Once the community garden opens up in March we'll go back to composting all of our food scraps. The kids are very excited to be able to find things in Goodwill and other thrift stores as well as donating all our no longer wanted things, we've actually always donated our things and never thrown them out, but this year we are doing it even more. There are so many sites where you can find used books to buy or sell or trade, all clothes always get either donated to family members or to various thrift stores. So this is nothing new for us but this year we are stepping it even more. :)
