We took the kids and our grandson, who came to stay with us for a week, to Governor's Island for father's day. It was a hot day, but the kids had a nice time, it's amazing how a 5 min. boat ride and you feel like you are not in the city anymore. We visited the fort and were able to go under neath where they used to store the gun powder and ammunition, and see the canons, the kids got to play mini golf and make some cool artistic things for father's day. K, our grandson, lives upstate and hasn't been to the city since he was almost 4 years old, so we did a few fun things while he was here. I took him to the NY Aquarium, to Coney Island, and on a subway train ride, which he thought was the coolest ever! The kids had a blast playing together all day! My step daughter and her husband came after a week and picked him up. It was really great to see them, and have them spend the day with us.
