We took A to Pennsylvania with us the weekend before last, for a night. It was great having some real one on one time with her. We went to the North Museum of Science and had a really good time exploring it. Her favorite exhibit were the giant bugs installation they put in just that morning.

Can you make out the face of a dragon?
Our next stop was the Indian Echoes Cavern in Hummelstown PA. We were there last winter when we stayed in PA for a night with all of the children. I love caves so we decided to go again, with just A. We had a funny tour guide and it was really interesting learning all about the cave formations and the legends and stories associated with it. There is noting like being inside a living cavern formed millions of years ago. We saw a few tiny brown bats, moss and other small plants that started to grow as a result of humans bringing in small pollen and other plant residue from outside, combined with the water and the lighting they installed so people can see. The lighting acts as an artificial sun and plants begin to grow. It is a reminder of how we humans can change the environment we inhibit.
