Australia Day

Friday was Australia day, so we did work sheets that I printed from Enchanted Learning related to Australia. F colored a flag, and learned some facts about the country/continent's animals and people. The girls colored some Australian animal printouts. He also did some math work sheets. Saturday me and F went to the Brooklyn Children's Museum for the Science of Snow work shop. We had a really good time, he got to experiment with 3 different kinds of 'chemicals' and an ice cube, the he got to make a snowflake decoration. They also explained a little about the ways people get around in the snow in different parts of the world. I took some names/facts and will look them up so we can expand the lesson a little bit. We also stayed for the live animal show, we got to touch a snake and a bullfrog. The snake was cool, the frog was yech, lol. He also got to play around in the rest of the museum, which he always likes to do. Today he played weather explorer on the comp. He picked some of the 50 states and looked up what the weather was for each one of them. We also practiced his Spanish words for the day, he is doing pretty well on his pronunciation. F and A also did some art work, they made puppets from paper lunch bags, and decorated it with pom poms, googly eyes and markers.
