Thursday

Tomorrows Art class was cancelled because the mom who was teaching it got sick :(, but they have rescheduled it for March. F and I were a little upset since this was going to be our first 'class' with the hs group.
Now we are doing errands and then going to Pizza Hut for his reward thru the Bookit! program for reading more than 10 books last month. (the goal that was set) We are then going to see grandma and spend some time with her.
F has been doing good this past few days as far as 'school' goes. We have been focusing on presidents, mainly Washington and Lincoln. Also we are doing things in connection with African-American month. We have books by African-American authors and I will be teaching him poems written by Langston Hughes. We are also doing a,lot with double/triple digit subtraction.
I found this web site for a lot of different cultural activities in down town NYC, some are free and some are a few dollars each. So it looks like we have most of our weekends full for the next few months. We have not really ventured outside in a few days on account of the cold weather, but the kids have dealt with it pretty well, we have been painting and they have had a lot of free play.
Hopefully it will be a little warmer soon so we can do a lot of the things I have planned.
