anxiety

I am dealing with a little home schooling anxiety again :)
I know that it's the better option for my kids, but sometimes I still feel that F has to be a little better in all areas than his peers(non home school kids) because then ppl might say "SEE! Home schooling is not better!" it's my own personal paranoia :) other hs parents will understand.... I have actually had a very good response from DH's family in regards to our choice. His sister gave us a bunch of work books and teaching material today (she works in a school) It's mostly 5Th grade stuff but we can certainly use it. My mother is very supportive as well...so all the paranoia comes from my head(and a few
looks' that I've gotten from people who in the grand scheme of things are not important to my family....)

All of this aside... we are having a good week with a lot of things planned for the weekend....

Tomorrow is Chess day at the library, which F is really looking forward to.... and we're still reading about Rome and Roman towns... F has been using his Carmen Sandiego software for the past few days and I noticed that he needs less help now than he did a few months ago with it. he likes all the geography it has. We also did a little math today as we walked home from the post office....mostly adding and a little multiplication... I was trying to explain to him about rounding up (nearest 10 or 100) and he just didn't get it in his head.... he needs it written down. That's OK he'll get it. I think it's too abstract a concept for him right now. Right now he is reading his spider man book on his Leap Pad.. that we the best 97c investment we made lol... Goodwill!! We have been reading a lot this week... the girls are loving it!
