We had a slow start to this week but have been so busy the last few days.
We went to the library on Tuesday, the girls played on the computer as usual and F stayed back watching a few kids play games on their computers.
It's been so hot so we are not doing very much, went to the park on Wednesday, kids got nice and wet.
Thursday we went Upstate to see my step kids, it was a 4 hour drive each way but we had a great time with them. We did a little shopping at Walmart :) and then we stayed at my step dd's house with everyone, the kids played on the trampoline and on the swing, my son and my grandson had a nice time wetting each other with their water guns...it was so hot but nice.
On the way there we talked a little about the Hudson River and the Native Americans that we read about on Wednesday.
It was good to see my step kids, I miss them, we don't see them as often as we all would like to. It's too far and financially not possible every month.
Today I set up a home schooling get together of sorts with a few moms and their kids that we get along with very well. We went to the Native American Museum in NYC (it's free) I was a little disappointed because some of the exhibits were under construction so we couldn't see them, but we still had a good time seeing the few that were open. We saw a short animated film and went to the resource center and got a few good teaching materials. I will go back with f and just sit at the computer that they have set up just for research on all the native tribes.
I really enjoyed talking with the moms and F got to see his friend W. Afterward we all went to battery park and ate hot dogs and played in the water fountain, all the kids got soaking wet :) and seemed to be having a great time.
We came home, rested for abt. 30 minutes and got ready to go to J's dance class, it was the last class until September and the teachers invited all of the parents to see the class in action. My mom came as well, which the kids were happy about. It was so cute, we video taped it and took pictures..she did great, she followed instructions and looked so cute dancing with all of the other 4 yr. old girls.
she was so proud of herself, I can;t wait until September and we go every week. I enrolled her for the Saturday classes this time because of our HS schedule for the upcoming 'school' year. We have so much planned for Fridays it just made more sense to put her in for Saturdays.
I am just so glad we found something for her that I know she loves.
