race

I had a nice mother's day, we drove into the city in the morning for a mother's day kid's race. All three kids ran and got a gift bag and a finishers ribbon at the end. They also got their faces painted and had a good time dancing and running around afterwards. J ran so fast I almost missed her, I was on the side lines. A ran with my mother and F ran by himself.
My DH had to leave for work as soon as the kids were done with their race, but me and my mom and the kids stayed and walked around central park. We also walked to a street festival and had some food and F found 2 adventure books that he really wanted for $2 each. Moby Dick and The Red Badge of Courage. The books are adapted for children but each has 18 chapters. We started Moby Dick last night. I am so glad that he loves to read as much as I do, he has 2 other books like this and loves to read adventure stories.
Today the weather was bad so we stayed home and F did some challenging math plms and worked on his Japan report. I taped a few shows from the DVR. I love that thing... I have so many educational shows recoded and now just have to put them on video tape.
