Aquarium

We are having a really nice week so far.... the kids went to tennis on Monday and Wednesday, they really like it and are getting better by the day. We saw my brother again on Monday for a few hours. Wednesday after tennis we played in the park with some friends that the kids met at tennis, had a great time running around, throwing water balloons at each other and getting wet in the sprinklers. Then we walked to the library and checked out a book on making maps.
Today we woke up and decided to go to the NY aquarium. it was such a nice day, warm and breezy. There were so many summer camp kids there it was insane, but we still had a good time. A really wanted to see the Octopus and this time we finally got to see it, usually it hides and we can see one tentacle....she was really happy. We also saw the walrus baby and its mother who put on a nice show for us by swimming around and pressing up against the glass with their huge body. I love the walruses. J and F also tried to hold their breath as long as they could just like the sea otter (who can do it for 5 minutes). F did it for 35 seconds, J for 11. When we got home the girls decided that they wanted to make a zoo/aquarium.

F has been watching the U. S. History DVD series about all of our presidents and the history of the U. S. during their presidencies. He is really interested and follows along with his Presidents book.
We are also doing much more of math in real life, in the store, looking at store receipts and adding, subtracting, multiplying ;if 1 lb of bananas are 77c how much are 3 lbs etc... this way he learns math and can relate it to real life.
