Took the kids to the Dr. all 3 are fine.. I think they feel better just going to the Dr. :) she is like a family member. I don't know what we will do when she retires... we went shoe shopping for J afterwards and got her 2 cute shoes for the fall... A and F have shoes already. Today was the last day of tennis, but since the kids weren't feeling that well and the weather a rainy we did not go.
They were disappointed but feel a little better that we will be going by ourselves and practicing with their own rackets and me as a teacher :).
I got my compliance letter from the Central office of Home schooling for this school yr. We are good to go with F's IHIP... I wasn't worried, I am kinda surprised that they are so on the ball this year. Usually they take their time responding to all paperwork.
I use the worldbook guidelines and put in some of the other materials that I know we will cover during the year, as well as the things we will be using to do our school work, fiction books, work books, non fiction books, encyclopedias, maps, Internet..... all sorts of things can be used to home school. We do not use a pre-packaged curriculum, too expensive and in my opinion not really necessary.
J is picking up the sounds of letters and wants to learn how to spell things. F has been reading his books that we got from the library on Friday from the RIF... free books are cool.... he picked a book about American true ghost stories and a book about the human body. (Did you know a nerve cell travels at 200 mph) he read me every fact abt. the body. He read the ghost story book as soon as we got home, he finished it in about 20 minutes and re read it to the girls the next day.... the body book was read a few times over the weekend when all he wanted to do was lie down and read/sleep/watch E.T. :)
