We had a busy week last week, Friday was our 1st geography club meeting, J and F both did their reports. J did a wonderful job, she got up there and armed with her moose book :) explained all about mooses. Where they lives, what they eat etc.... it was really nice to see her being herself, she is so comfortable in front of a crowd. I was so proud of her. F did a great job as well, he is more shy even after almost 1 yr of participating in the club but he does well. then we stayed for some play time, J had her friend F there and of course F played with his bff C :). they had a great time shooting pool....
Then off to the library for RIF. Saturday was the first day of dance class, then we got ready for my niece's quinceneira party, she turned 15 and had a big celebration in accordance with Hispanic customs... J danced the whole night away, A played with some of her younger cousins but mostly stood next to me, or had me dance with her. F hung with his cousin I. We had a great time and got home very late. Sunday we got up and got ready to go to the Pickle festival in the city with my mom. We got off the train in china town and were greeted with a whole 'nother city :), street vendors peddling everything under the sun, tourists, noise and smog.... we walked about 15 blocks (we got lost) but finally found the street. We sampled a variety of things that were pickled, J talked to a reporter from NYU college paper, and had a good time eating pickles.
Monday morning A got up with a stuffy nose.... now she has a little cold. I am hoping she will be fine by tomorrow....
F finished his magic tree house book and started his book report on it yesterday, did 2 math pages, and watched 2 shows on the end of the civil war, we discussed out government as it is, the founding fathers and other things concerning this time period. This morning so far he has done 2 math pages and is working on country flags.
