snow

Well it snowed today enough for it to stick on the ground.. we got about 2 inches from what I could tell.. F and his daddy went to buy the tree today :). Finally... The kids went outside with their father and played in the snow for a little while, made snow men and enjoyed the weather until it started to rain and came inside with frozen fingers lol.
Yesterday when it was till pretty nice (43 and sunny) we did our errands, 2 1/2 hours of walking around doing all the food shopping. F and J learn a lot from these trips as far as math and general life skills.

We were having problems with the heat and hot water in the building because of some electrical problem the last few days.. great timing... and so have spent more time under blankets watching TV than anything else...besides some housework to keep warm....finally today it seemed to all get finished and we now have enough heat to be OK, not too comfortable because it's 28 degrees outside.... it's gonna be a long cold winter it seems. I am not in the mood to do much outside activities and neither are the kids... so we will see how much we get done this winter. I predict a lot of movie watching and reading and lots of playing and being creative... J has been getting more and more creative with her 'projects' she made little chicks out of small balls and clay, a robot out of a box and construction paper, presents for her brother and sister from cotton, poof balls, (for A) fake money (for F) she is very sweet. She has been writing a lot the past few weeks as well. She is reading more words as well.

The girls had their recital for The Nutcracker last Sunday and it was so nice and they did a great job being sugar plum fairies. We were all proud and really saw what we pay for as far as their dance classes. They have gotten so much more graceful and more coordinated these last few months. They have a great teacher :).
We are taking a little break from dance though this winter and will start up again in March.

I am counting down to Christmas as are the kids. :)
