On Tuesday we took the train into the city to get together with some home schooling families at the Met Museum. I set it up for 12 pm and it went well. We met some new people and hung with some old friends. The kids really had a good time, we got to see the Egyptian wing... mummies... the arms and armory... knights and lots of swords and other battle artifacts... then we walked around the European wing and looked at the Van Gogh and Degas paintings. Through out all the galleries the kids sketched their favorite things.. A's was the horse with armor on it... and J did ome of Van Gogh's paintings. J and he friend F hung out the whole day and had fun running around the museum and being silly together. I am so sad that her friend will be going to school in the fall :(.
We were there so long that we didn't come out until 4 pm when my husband picked us up after he finished working. So my plans of walking around the city for a bit after the museum went with the rain that started falling as soon as we got outside... but it was a great day.
Twice a week museum trips are cool :). So what home schooling is all about.
Now back to 'school work'. F did math yesterday and that's about it.. his father was home because of a minor back injury form work so it kind of interrupted our home school semi schedule we have going here... but its OK he loved spending more time with his dad.
