We went apple and pumpkin picking in NJ in early October with my husband's niece and her 2 kids. All of us had a blast, feeding the barn animals, corn maze, picking apples, jumping in bales of hay, exploring the grounds, picking pumpkins, climbing in big wagons, sliding and just having a really fun time! We go to the same place every year and it never gets old, I am already looking forward to going again next year.





Science experiments with acids and bases :). The kids had fun learning about what food/products had some acid in them. Red = acid and blue = base.
One surprise was the bananas that turned red when mixed with the red cabbage water we used as indicators.

We took a trip to the Bronx Zoo in October, one of our favorite places. The gorillas were out and about, running around, putting on a show. We stood watching them for over 30 minutes along with a lot of other people. They are such amazing animals. Getting a yearly membership to the WCS zoos is one of the best things we have done for the past 10 years. We always get our money's worth between the visits to the 4 zoos in 4 boros (SI is not included) and the Bklyn aquarium.
