home depot

We went to J's dance class this morning, while F and his father went to home depot for their wood shop class. He built a wooden firetruck. After the dance class, we decided that the girls could benefit from going to home depot as well. So we drove out there and they loved it. J was so proud that she made one all by herself (with daddy's help). She got her face painted like a butterfly afterwards, and we got fire safety information, crayons, coloring books, fake tattoos etc from the stands right outside of home depot. I love that the kids can make nice wooden toys of their own for free.
Yesterday we did errands all day, cleaned and the kids played together at home.
F read a book about Roberto Clemente for Hispanic heritage month, did some math, and read a lot from the hurricanes and tornadoes book that we got from the library. He loves that stuff.
He did some work for his song writing class, he is a little less resistant about having to write a few sentences, which is good. He did a few rhyming word lines and will write more of his song once he gets to the next class. Chess started up again on Thursday so F has begun practicing more with his father they played a few games Friday and he is really picking it up.

We also played the great States board game that I bought a while ago and never played.
It is a fun game about the 50 states, it has 200 cards with questions about the states and fun facts, figures etc....
F did god for his 1st time, he got more cards right than me.....
he is really interested with the 50 states and he reads a lot form his book that I bought a few weeks ago, he remembers more info. about them every day.
