We had such a great hs'ing day today, it's been a while since we have covered so much material in one day.
The morning started with me and F playing one of the Professor Noggin card games 'The revolutionary War' one. Then we had breakfast, the girls woke up, we read the last chapter in the Odyssey's 2ND book. Did a few work pages on ladybugs which lead to looking up ladybugs and what they eat online..which lead to ladybug games and some more reading on them. The girls were also involved in this, they colored their own ladybugs and learned about their life cycle. A even remembered to tell her daddy tonight that they become pupas then big lady bugs.... so cute.... J practiced writing on her lady bug paper, drew some more pictures of her and her daddy, cooking chicken in the oven....she loves to draw so much I hope she can really go somewhere with it in the future....
F made his own lady bug life cycle book.
We had lunch while the kids relaxed for abt 1 hour and then we started again with some math games on line, discussions abt. the civil war, labeled the human body on line, played more science games on line (we use the computer a lot) F found a site where he could label the muscles in the human body and the parts of the heart......
Then I read 4 books to them as bed time stories, put together the US state puzzle with A, which meant i handed her the pieces and asked her which state was which while she put all 50 states in the right spot....sometimes I forget she's only 2 1/2....
We also practiced the alphabet in sign language, F was more into it tonight than the girls were but it's usually them asking me "how do I do this sign?"
Yesterday was good as well, we went to F's song writing class, he is doing well according to the teacher, he is participating and has ideas while in class, he even wrote a few sentences the other day for the class. Afterwards the kids had a blast playing outside with their friends...F loves to see his friend C, they get along so great together..... A and my hs'ing mom friend's dd E followed each other around in their little ride along cars for a few...laughing at each other like only 2 little girls can...J played a little with E and her sister A, I have to make more play dates specifically for J because she seems to be surrounded mostly by younger kids or much older kids, which she doesn't mind but seems to never really click with..... I think once her dance class starts again on Friday she will make some 4 or 5 yo girls friends like before.....
F came home and for the first time he did his hw for the class the same night as the class.....he protested a little but now he is like oh wow I have nothing to do for this class for a whole week......haha I hope this sticks with him....
