Chess

F did a few work pages today on grammar and punctuation marks, played scrabble with me (and won) and looked up the volcanoes of Indonesia..there are 76 active ones....
After some playtime with his sisters we went to the library for chess. F loves to play and he plays well but he doesn't always talk to the kid he is playing with any more than he has to. He is always nice but very quiet. But today he was so different I wanted to note it here :) he talked to the kid, argued about the plays they were making and made his opinions known, explained why certain pieces couldn't be moved etc.... he really seemed to enjoy himself and looked really confident playing something he knows he is good at. He didn't over do it or anything like that he just acted very confident and I saw this look on his face.....It's hard to explain..... I was just very proud.
J and A played the Reader Rabbit comp. game and I noticed that J is learning her letters more and more each day.... she knows at least 18 of them by sight and some by sound as well....
I read A a whole bunch of books at her request.... now I am pointing out the letters in some words so she knows them better...she knows A, B and O :) so far....she's almost 3(sigh) I know she has time to learn all of what she needs to learn and I love that she loves to read and loves books :) like her mommy... she has her favorite books....
