happy new year!

Happy new year to all.......

did all my errands and some schooling today with A mostly..... we are staying home and watching the ball drop on tv....unless the girls fall asleep......

_____ has had no absences in the quarter, and has exceeded the required number of hours of instuction (225).

He has had instruction in all of the following areas as per section 100.10 of the regulations of the New York state commissioner of education and _____'s IHIP.

Reading: Various level 2 or above books, Odyssey (adapetd for childen), is read to daily.

Writing: Copy writing passages from books, takes song writing class.

Spelling: Is improving his spellng through writiting for song writing class and monthly reports.

Language: Frequent review of phonics, vowels, discussed punctuation marks.

Arithmetic: Reviewed 1 and 2 digit addittion and subtraction, time and money.

Social Studies (U.S. History and georgaphy) : Studying Civil War, geography club, reads constantly about all 50 states. Columbus day, Hispanic heritage month study.

Science: Study weather, hurricanes and its effects on people ,animals in winter. Read about dinosaurs. Used miscoscope to study bees.

Health/Safety: Fire safety, ongoing discussions regarding healthy food and benefits of exercise.

Physical education: Bike riding, jumping, running, various outdoor games.

Visual Arts: Clay work , drawing, painting, gluing.

Music: Song writing class, beginning recorder.
