It snowed again today, which fit well with the miniature snowmen we all made today, with glue and some felt :)
Well so far this week we have been doing errands, dental appts and other appts...I am trying to make sure we are all done for the upcoming yr...
In between these F has been more open to doing his work in his workbooks and pages from ed helper.com (so great for the price I pay) we have covered nouns, pronouns, spelling and plurals. In math we covered time, money, double, and triple digit addition and subtraction. We got into the habit of practicing spelling daily, I'll ask him how do you spell this word..and he tries to spell it....he's improving....
He also has been writing more, and of course doing his geography, constantly looking at the different countries, islands that are around the world. He finished his 600 piece puzzle of the world all by himself during the course of 3 days. I was so proud of him and he was pretty proud of himself. We also are continuing to cover the Civil war and have discussed a little bit of the Mexican American war.
Yesterday we talked a bit about the Montgomery bus boycott in 1955 and Rosa Parks.
He had some good opinions on the boycott and what happened back then.... he has a lot of questions about everything I hope this lasts forever :)
J has also been doing well and asking constantly what does cat, puma, dog, watch, food, grape etc. start with, she wants to know all about animals and we have a DVD collection courtesy of my mom :) that the girls love, each DVD is a different animal and the girls will sit and 'read' or have me read them parts of the book that the dvd comes with and then watch the DVD and all the while ask me a million questions. "what does a puma eat? where does a jaguar live? Does a snake leave foot prints? Does a dingo lay eggs etc etc... it never ends and I love it because she is so curious about everything.....she loves to play and pretend and tells stories all the time. I video taped her tonight telling one of her stories about Mr. Grinch and Frosty the snowman. She gets real into it and makes faces and voices. A is into trying to learn her letters and and numbers, drawing, coloring, making ducks out of construction paper, she loves when I read to her and I have found a few books with her name in it as a character that we borrowed from the library.......fun stuff, with natural learning going on :)
