It's September

Well here we go... another 'school' year of home schooling. So far so good I think. Yesterday F did some math pages, read from his Magic Tree house book, and started his Canada report for the geography club in 2 weeks. He also has been engrossed in his big book of maps of WWII we got him a few weeks ago.... it has facts, details abt WWII and over 100 maps of battle fields... he also reads his Time for kids Almanac for 2008 every night it seems :). Just when I think he has gone to bed/sleep he is in there with his mini flash light reading.... I love it :). He knows tons of facts about all the countries in the world, about planets etc.....

We went to do some more laundry yesterday..it never ends.... and walked to the library to borrow a book on Moose, J's subject of choice for Canada. They did not have even 1 book on moose that the librarian could find... believe that? So we read a few other books, F chose 1 book to borrow and we walked back to pick up the laundry. I washed all our towels for the week.. abt 10 large towels... and I told F that I am not putting them in the dryer and will just hang them up at home because it is sooo hot. He said "oh good, that'll save you about $2." I was like "umm yeah, wow so you have been paying attention lol" He is very good at saving money and pays attention when I talk to him about what things cost, and budgeting your money and all kinds of money matters. I believe in teaching children to be financially responsible from an early age.

This morning F did a word plm math page while I wrote out numbers from 1to 20 for J to copy so she practices writing her numbers, she was so into it she didn't want to stop and did her own numbers to practice.. she wrote 100, 200, until 600 and was so happy that she did them so neat and recognizable.
We read from his Magic tree.... book again and the kids played Go fish again, their new favorite game. A is learning her numbers fast from this game.
