Been a while/ Friday

We have had a pretty quiet week, mostly studying math, F has long division down so we moved onto adding/subtracting numbers in the thousands and then writing out the numbers. Reading to all three kids, F has been studying the presidents...all of them... reading his Presidents book, looking them up online and reading about their families, lives and interesting facts about them. We finished watching John Adams yesterday...it was such a good mini series I was sad to see it end. he was such an interesting man but I really liked learning more about Abigail Adams. He has also been reading and searching for things about his coin collections.

Last Friday we went to the home school geography club and both kids presented their reports on Finland. J loves to be the center of attention and she always wants to go first. She did a nice report on the Artic Hare with pictures and a few words, she explained all about this animal. F did his on 10 facts about the country. F also drew the flag of Finland for his folder at home. It was nice, we ate some good Finnish food, and stayed to play with friends for a little while.

J had to have her tooth pulled by an oral surgeon, she had an abscess in her gum under the tooth that was filled about 6 months ago... I made an emergency dentist appt for Tuesday and they sent here to the surgeon on Wed 8 am.....my DH took off work for the morning and drove us there and then went directly to work, so once it was over I took the bus to the train. It was a cold morning..not fun for any of us... J was brave but really scared so she cried. They put her to sleep so she didn't actually feel anything until after we got home, Motrin helps :). Now she is all better, but I am worried about her other tooth that also has a filling....

The girls have been playing board games with F, playing with their dolls, building with their Lego's and blocks and reading to their stuffed animals. It's been kind of cold so we have only done essential errands and just hanging out at home.

The girls have contibued dance class every Saturday morning and are loving it, they are learning new steps for the Nutcracker recital they will do in December.
