We went to the city on Friday for a class taught by the Urban Park rangers. It was on Botany and the various trees, and plants in the park. It was a really nice day, and both F and J really had a good time. J was following the park ranger around the whole time, listening, answering questions, raising her hand...it was so cute... F had his friends there and they all had a nice time and learned all about the types of trees, plants, bushes etc. in the park. At one point I noticed that F who had his friends C and W there, who do not know each other, was in between both boys with his arms around each of their shoulders and was talking and laughing with both. I asked him about it on the way home and he said 'well they're both my friends and I got them together because that's right' Now I noted this because both of his friends are very different and they normally would not be together if not for F. I liked that he didn't choose one and leave the other one out. He didn't see a reason to do that, they are both equally his friends and he wasn't going to exclude on or the other. He is not like that...I was proud of him for doing that, I know his friend C is shy and only talks to F in a group setting and F knows that too so he included him.
Both kid's favorite was the scavenger hunt where we got a card with different types of leaves the kids had to look for. We found almost all of them just walking on the trails. White oak, Ginko, and Tulip and other made the list and were found and put in a plastic bag that we brought home and put into their leaf books.
We got home around 5pm, relaxed for a little bit and got ready to drive to SI to drop F off at my mother's house for the weekend. By the time we got back home it was around 9 30 pm...
The girls went to dance Saturday morning and then we went to Trader Joe's in Bklyn.. they finally opened!
Me and the girls stayed home all day Sunday, cleaned, played and had a good time just being.....
Today was laundry, the bank...and the girls worked in their work books, while F sorted, looked up and noted in his book all the foreign coins he has. He also worked on 4 digit math this week and will move onto geometry this coming week.
My friend J and her two kids decided last minute to come over around 2 pm... F's friend C is her son so they were thrilled to see each other again.... I know Friday was soo long ago..lol
They all had a great time, J and A drew and played with her daughter E while F and C played pinball on the computer and looked at F's coin collection and just hung out for a few hours...
It was a long day....
