The kids had their weekly soccer practice yesterday, they are doing better every week. After the 1 hr and 40 minutes of running around they didn't have enough, so we took them to the playground :). Me and 3 other moms walked over to the big playground in PP and hung out for another 40 minutes or so... until it really looked like it might rain. The girls ran around with friends, played on the swings.... F and his friend I walked around, rode I's bike, played on the swings and while I rode his bike slowly F read to him from his Goosebumps book which he brought along to read on the bus. I was watching him reading to his friend and I couldn't help thinking that I love my child :). His friend is not a good reader yet.. he's only 7, and he saw F reading his book and was interested so F started reading to him. F has just recently started being comfortable reading aloud to anyone other than me, so I was glad.....
Me and I's mom S sat and discussed home schooling in NYC.. where here are hundreds of activities going on with the various home school groups, but which cost a little too much if you don't have a lot of money, which we both don't, and have more than 1 child. She has 3 and is pregnant with the 4th, and I have 3. I think to successfully home school you don't need to take your child to hundreds of different classes and trips and get togethers, you can easily do the museums and trips with one other friend, get family memberships to the Zoo, and a few museums to save money, and find a lot of free activities they can enjoy. On top of that do your daily home schooling at home, rent educational DVDs etc. We have a very tight budget and it works out OK, you just have to set our priorities, and our are our children and their happiness.
Which include them being home schooled for a very long time. :)

I'm with you. I love some of the group classes, but I've become so selective now and mostly prefer to just go somewhere by ourselves or with 1 or 2 families. Sounds like you're keeping busy!
