B day party and family

We went to my great nephew's 1st b day party on Friday. My niece invited us and her brothers and sisters and her mom (my sis in law)to Prospect park for a b day party for her baby. There were about 30 people there, at least 18 were children...I have to tell you, we had such a great time with so many great people, the kids played lots of games, tossed a baseball around, talked, ate, had cupcakes, socialized, and all got along great. Even A who is shy and doesn't really want to play with other kids when we are at a homeschool gathering, played with her cousins and is still talking about how much fun she had. We got home around 9:30 pm, washed our dirty feet :) and fell into bed..
Saturday was dance class, a short play date with J and A's friends from dance class Z at the playground, then home to relax where J actually fell asleep for 2 hours.. she hasn't taken a nap in years. I think all the activity tired her out, but she woke up in a much better mood :). Sleep is good :).

As far as homeschooling goes, we haven't done much 'school' work in the last few weeks, but we have done some reading, J is still going to her drawing class in the city and is thriving.. she is getting better every week, her teacher said that she has talent that is beyond her age. She has a passion for drawing and she is allowed to do it when she feels like it, no restrictions. We also have a lot of talks about things that are interesting to the kids, anything from animals to the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
