Family

We went to the 1st annual V family reunion this past Saturday, about 65 members of DH's family showed up for a great day of bbq, (I made Canadian potato salad and veggie sandwiches) baseball, basketball(for the nephews,) running around, lots of socializing with people we haven't seen in ages, etc....
The kids had a really good time with their cousins, F played baseball, ran around, dug in the dirt, played games with 2 of his cousins for hours.. we got there (Queens) at 11:30 and left at 7 pm.
Some of my dh's family from NC came down as well, some from CT...
it was nice to connect with family that I haven't talked to outside of FB for a long time. We made plans to see each other again soon.. hopefully it'll happen.

Tennis, drawing class and dance class all ended last week so we have a lot of free time and so we have done some more home schooling this week. Science and reading have taken precedence, we went mushroom hunting last week at PP.. it was such a great day.. so peaceful, we found at least 4 different types of mushrooms, I bought F a mushroom guide book a few days before and he was excited to start using it. We walked around the park for hours and ended up at the Lefferts house where the kids explored the house outside and then once it opened the girls had a good time playing inside pretending to be Colonial kids while F played old style games and watered the garden outside.

I am excited to start this coming years home schooling, we have a few weekly classes lined up and a few in the works. Hopefully it'll be a good school year...
