We have been loving the free 30 day trial for the IXL math site. I think there are 6 days left on it then we get to have a homeschool group membership for $7 per child for a year. The kids all really enjoy the math concepts and actually want to go online every day to do math, F and J usually end up on it for about 45 to 1 hour each. I also like that if they get an answer wrong there is an explanation provided on how to get it right. For each grade there are at least 150 different math concepts covered and it's all up to national standards as schools use it as well.
F and I are still reading My side of the mountain, as well as Treasure Island. Reading Story of the World, doing various workbooks, reading about the discovery of the cell, exploring onion cells, dust bunnies, and other cool things under the microscope etc. It has been so cold that none of us have felt much like going outside except for dance class and to do some errands. Doesn't help that one of the other one of us have been sick for over 2 weeks..
Christmas decorating and wrapping presents have also taken up some time :).. I love that we can stay home together and relax and just enjoy the season.
The girls' last dance class is coming up this Saturday and then their annual recital is on Sunday... they are all excited.
They will be doing the nutcracker as well as some other dances for the recital and I'm sure it will be cute with all the little girls in costumes.
