We had a great time at the Alley Pond Environmental Center yesterday. The kids got to play in the playroom with some other home schoolers, see some animals inside the center and generally have a nice 'play date'. Also once the older kids were done with their class we all went on a nature walk outside. The weather was so nice, cold but not too cold. I was so glad..they got to hear a few interesting facts about animals and nature, and F learned something even though we only went for the 'play date'.
F was glad to see his friend W again.
At home we have been doing pretty well on the 'school' front :)
F has been doing a lot of Carmen Sandiego online software and is really picking up the different facts about the countries. He uses his map a lot to look up countries.
In the library on Wed. I picked up a few more books by African-American authors as well as a few by Hispanic ones. I plan on teaching him a lot more about various ethnic backgrounds via books and our friends.
J has been playing her alphabet game and her care bears game daily now and is getting really good at it. I am looking into sending her to a music class, I have to find one in our price range and that fits into our home schooling schedule. I want to start her in April, once it's warmer.
We have so much planned once it's warmer :).
