Spring!

Well, Spring is here..yay! We went to the park today and the kids got to run around and play a little. F played with a little girl who thought he was hilarious. It was nice to see. It went up to 74 deg. :)
We have been reading more poetry, he borrowed one about food, and the kids love it. It has a lot of silly poems about all kinds of food. He seems to like poetry as well as stories. I hope he will be inspired to start writing some poems himself.
Before we left F did 4 pages in his work book, he picked the pages himself, he did some math and then a review of pro-nouns. Then he laid down to see a video for an hour. After the park we came home and used the food scale to weigh different kinds of food. He likes to see how much things weigh. We wrote the weights down in our math note book and did a few activities with the numbers. He is getting better at understanding how to read the scale. It has Lbs. Oz. and kilograms. He likes the hands on experience instead of just looking at a work book of weighs. He seems to be a Kinesthetic learner. He needs to touch/ see what he is doing as opposed to just reading in a book. I looked it up an this is what I got about this type of learner. I know that as he gets older this might change a little, that is why it's good to be home schooling because we can accommodate his learning style according to his needs.

Tactile/Kinesthetic Learners:

learn through , moving, doing and touching...

Tactile/Kinesthetic persons learn best through a hands-on approach, actively exploring the physical world around them. They may find it hard to sit still for long periods and may become distracted by their need for activity and exploration.

The girls are still talking about their day at the Zoo on Saturday, they loved the porcupines and the red panda, and the sheep and cow they saw. J loves to pretend that she is some kind of animal. We will definitely be going to the zoo again soon.
