Thursday

I have not been in the mood to write much lately, it's too cold. :(
We have been spending more time indoors than out, only doing laundry and some other errands. A has had a cold for about a week now, slowly getting better, she no longer keeps me awake at nights while she coughs.. I'm a light sleeper...

We have been reading more, watching a little more TV than we should : ), cleaning, and organizing, waiting for Thanksgiving.
My youngest step daughter turned 19 yesterday and now I feel old, lol.
F has been working on learning more geometry, triple digit multiplication, researching extinct animals, and reading some more about various topics.
We are also doing some grammar daily, he is learning more about adjectives, verbs, nouns and how to write more coherent sentences. He still really dislikes to write, unless he is writing down facts or specific information. I am encouraging him to write down what he remembers from whatever story we read, as well as writing some original sentences. Sometimes though its like pulling teeth.. so we are working on it.
Today we braved the cold, it was about 38 this morning which felt more like 32, and walked to the church to donate some food that I packed a few weeks ago. It was only 2bags of food but I figure we have to give back wherever we can. I want to teach the kids that there are people who do not have as much as we have and that its important to give back. It feels good to give to others, I've actually been thinking of volunteering there to give out the food every week. Maybe I will start slowly and do it once a month.
After talking to the ladies from the church, where they loved that we home school and thought it was great and that we are lucky to be able to do it, we walked over to the eye Dr and picked up my new glasses, its amazing how much better I can see now. :)
J wears her glasses when she watches TV or plays on the computer (at least when we remember to put it on) and she looks so much like me its weird, but very cute.
