Spring

Well Spring is here but it sure doesn't feel like it... and of course as it always is we are sick :). nothing major, just colds.. we went the whole winter without really being sick, F had some congestion for a day or so.. we killed it by eating garlic and using Cold ease and Vitamin c :).
Hoping that works for what we have now too, hoping it just stays limited to me and J. A is not a very pleasant child when she is sick...

We are doing dance class every Saturday and then having family time, riding bikes and F is loving his Razor scooter we got for his b day (which is not till next week) but why wait...he wants to use it every where we go which is fine with me since we mostly walk every where.
last Thursday we went to the Lefferts House in Prospect Park for a home school get together/class. It was interesting, we took a tour of the Homestead which was built in 1783 and learned how they lived back then, the kids got to dress up in Colonial style clothing, cook with play food over a real fire place, look at objects from that time period and learn about the inhabitants of the house. Afterwards me and my friend C and her 6 yo dd F went to the PP zoo right next door. It was supposed to be a quick 15 minute visit, sit down and eat in the cafeteria since it was raining and we had things to do. When me and C looked at our watches it was 2 hours later :) that's what happens when you take friends to the zoo. The kids had a really good time though so I was fine. Me and C had some adult conversation too.
We walked though the park and took the bus home in time to make dinner.

We started reading Around the World in 80 days, F decided he'd rather read that than The Red Badge of courage which is not turning out like he thought. It's OK he can pick it up again when he's older. J is interested in this book too so it's a family read aloud now, me and F reading and the girls listening and asking questions and cracking up at the word butler. (umm according to A is the funniest word ever because it starts with a certain word)hahaha but she is listening.
F is also doing math daily again, A is now interested in learning her letters so we have been working on that more.

I also read a book an Famous American women to the kids a few days ago and A was really interested in the first female doctor Elizabeth Blackwell and she has decided after looking at a book on the human body that she wants to by an OB and help ladies give birth to babies :). yeah I know she's only 4 lol

When her daddy came home she told him all about her, and remembered her name and everything.
I asked her again today what was the lady's name and she told me and asked me when we would go to the library to borrow a book about her. :)
So what if she's not a typical Pre-K er who wants that? lol
