I always like days like yesterday in our home schooling world. It was a very rainy and windy day so we spent it at home relaxing an doing various things. We read 2 chapters of Around the World in 80 days, played a US geography game with F, did some math problems, J and I worked on Starfall for about 45 minutes and she is improving her reading daily. She needs to remember to sound out her words rather than try and guess what they are. We are also going over her numbers ever chance we get. The kids played together, watched some TV with me and relaxed.
All 3 kids pitched in and cleaned their room so I could vacuum, and helped do some house work.
Tuesday was my B day, which meant my mom came over. I cleaned the whole house and did some errands in the morning, with F's help. I'm telling you he is getting so grown up. He helped with the laundry so all I had to do was wait outside while he put all the wet clothes in the bag for us to take home, helped with putting away all the dishes, and made lunch for himself and his sisters. They wanted eggs with parsley so after our trip to the vegetable market he made it for them. He has been very interested in cooking for himself and eggs are all I am comfortable in having him do for now. He also made me a card and put it under my pillow, and made me laugh all day with his joking and silliness. I really have to say this was one of my best b days. I got some Chinese b day cake with fruit and whipped cream :) and some earrings from the husband. J picked them out so she was happy that I loved them.
I also finished the paper work I have to send to the HS ing office, F's 4th quarterly and the annual assessment which took me abt 20 minutes to prepare. It basically states some of the things we have done this year and certifies that he is doing satisfactorily in all subjects and will be moving up a grade come September. This year I have to send in the LOI for J as well... I am kind of nervous because we will be home schooling 2 kids now, officially. Which means paperwork for 2 instead of 1.... I know once I get it done the first few times it'll be fine and easy.
Then next year it's 3 kids with A :). Unless I have a 4th child... :)
