Just had to blog about my friend from high school who just had her 1st baby last night. After about 2 years of trying they got pregnant with a little boy :), who decided to come last night ( 5 weeks early). He is okay for the most part, weighs 4 lbs 8 oz and is a cutie!! She sent me pics (they live in NJ).
As the months passed by and we have spent most of our time emailing about baby and pregnancy stuff I have been thinking back to all my 3 pregnancies and labors and little babies. I do miss that time.
I watched as my babies grew up and became toddlers, then little children, then as in F's case a 9 1/2 yr old boy.....J too is growing up and totally becoming her own little person. She has opinions and observations and is so loving and sweet and funny. A is still my baby :), even though she is almost 5 yrs old.... she is short for her age so she reminds me of a 3 yo J who was tall for her age. Sometimes I have to remind myself that she is 4 3/4 and not younger. She is a very smart little girl and has very keen observations about the world around her. I noticed during the past few months that she is good at math, and can do simple additions in her head, even though she can't identify all her numbers yet on paper. She loves her dolls and taking acre of them, she caries a diaper bag with clothes, food and diapers when we go outside, when it's cold she will stop and dress her baby in warm clothes. It is the cutest thing... she has now decided that she only wants to be a mommy when she grows up.. and nothing else... hmm I'm not sure about that one! I told her she still needs to go to college (they call it grown up school) and she said of course mommy, but then all I want to do is be a mommy like you. Well at least she will get an education. I can't help but smile...
It's funny how I see myself in all 3 of my kids, in different ways though, but I'm there somewhere in all their personalities.
I thank God for all that I have....
