PA

I have been so busy these last few weeks.. I've forgotten to blog....
We went to PA last week for our last vacation of the year.... We had such a nice time, I always love Lancaster. I love how peaceful it is and how pretty and fresh it is. We took an Amish buggy ride thru the country, went to a canning factory store and saw how people make canned sauerkraut. They make a lot of different types of food that is preserved, but that day they were just doing sauerkraut. The girls loved watching each persons' role in the canning process. It was interesting and we talked a little bit about how food comes to our table and to the store. There is learning at every turn. We so prefer fresh farm food to store bought.
The kids loved the playground and petting zoo with goats and chickens that chased them around. Got to see baby chicks, baby goats, pigs and other farm animals. Ate some good Amish pastry, they tried Whoopie pie for the first time and fell in love with it. We also played golf and did some shopping at Walmart to stock up on household essentials and the Goodwill. F found a Webkinz tag(no toy) on the bottom of the toy bin so he now has a cat Webkinz online for free. Also bought some books and some warm pj's for J. I love thrift store finds.
We also talked some about how items get to the stores and how the whole process of who gets paid for what works. F has a lot of questions....

We had such a great time no one wanted to come home...but...
