About a week and a half ago while DH was still on vacation, we took a drive to NJ and went apple and pumpkin picking.
The drive only took about 1 hour, and the scenery was beautiful. Princeton is so pretty in the Fall. We had a great time, picked about 20 pounds of apples, and each child came home with a pumpkin. F got the biggest one.
We had a great lunch of veggie soup and apple cider donuts.. soo good... then walked around the grounds. The kids fed the goats and the geese, and tried out the farm equipment sized just for them.
The apples were so good, we each had at least 4 while walking around deciding which ones we wanted to take home.
It was so good to go there on a Friday when hardly anyone was there. I miss that...
we have deff. done less traveling since DH is now only off on the weekends :(.
On the Saturday after dance class my husband decided to carve the big pumpkin. He has never carved one before and the kids were so excited :). They all took turns scooping out the seeds and after much discussion DH carved a very good scary face into it. It looks really good and scary :). It feels like Fall now too with the chilly weather and the pumpkins and fresh apples...
