We went to Prospect Park today to meet with the home school group for some fun and games. (Letter boxing) One of the moms' hid a box somewhere in the park and we read clues to follow together, F learned how to use a compass, we had a good time walking all over the park. F and all the kids learned some various educational facts, such as the battle in Brooklyn during the revolutionary war. We saw swans in the lake and many different birds that were pointed out by one of the moms. It was such a nice day, the girls played in the playground with their father while me and F walked the park.
F came back from Florida on Saturday night so we are back to the routine. We have been doing mostly learning from our environment, such as while grocery shopping F has been learning to multiply, add and subtract to figure out how much things cost according to how much they weigh. We started to grow a bean plant again, and to document the growth daily. F has been pretty good at reading/showing the girls his dinosaur books.
The girls are getting used to having F back, 4 days is a long time for a little kid...they missed him.
J is practicing more how to write her name, how to count, and Spanish. I have some good ideas about math games that I am going to try out in the next few weeks, I want to make math a little more fun for F as well as for J to learn her numbers.
