We have had a busy week this week..... F has been doing his math, working with multiplication and fractions mostly. Reading about Roman soldiers, and watching Pompeii again, which is what brought on the interest in the Roman civilization.
Monday afternoon I went out with my mother, Tuesday we all went and bought new shoes for J and did our errands, which means stopping every few blocks and looking at the nature around us. F has been wanting to practice his math while we are out, especially his multiplication, he is getting better with his 3 times tables.
Wednesday my mom came over and watched the girls while and and F went to the home school soccer group in NYC. F had a great time, playing and doing soccer drills with the other kids his age. Then they played games like chain tag. He got good and dirty :). I like that they all play together, boys and girls are not separated. I met one of the home school moms at the no.2 train in Brooklyn, then we all took the train into NYC. We will try to go by ourselves at least every other wed., it takes 3 trains to get there and I'm not sure if I want to do that with 3 small children by myself. We got home at about 2, I cooked dinner then after my dh got home I went out with my mother again. It's been nice seeing my mother a few time this week... I can get used to this :)
On Thursday we went to the library as well as to a dr. appt for J. There was a school group in the library at the time we were there and they were so loud and did not look like they were accomplishing much, the teacher kept saying every one needs to get 2 books to take home. I kept thinking that just because they took the books doesn't mean they will read them. I'm very cynical about public school, I don't know if it's because I can actually see the difference in my child now or??
We got a few books and a few free books as well, from the rack where they had the deleted books. The girls got a few books each which we read as soon as we got home :)
After the Dr. appt. we went out for pizza and then home. On the way home we stopped to look at a hurt bee on the ground for what seemed like 20 minutes..... the kids are so much more into nature now.... we discussed the importance of bees in our environment on the way home.
I played a memory game with the girls with a Pooh bear memory game cards, A slept with the cards in her hands last night lol.
Today we are getting a tune up for our car, the kids are drawing and F and J played tag and hide and seek this morning in the apt. later we are going to my mother's house.
