race day

The kids went to Central Park today for the kid's race for the 154Th anniversary of Central Park. They had a great time, J ran so well that she placed 2ND in her age group of 4 yr olds...we were so proud :) afterwards we went to play a little in the park. Then we went out to lunch at the Le pain....ate great organic food for free :) it was comped because of where my husband works. It's important to us what the kids eat, I know that teaching them healthy eating habits early will keep them healthy. The kids really like all the variety of fruits and veggies that we give them. A combination of exercise and healthy eating (with the occasional chocolate) should give them a good foundation for the future.
Yesterday we went for J's dance class and she did great, the teacher was impressed with how well she listened and followed what she was doing. Originally next Friday would have been her last class until Sept. but she emailed me today to say that she'd like for her to go to the Aug.3rd group show they will all be putting on for the parents...I was like ohh I'm so happy that she has so much faith in my dd.
We bought her her first dance outfit so she had the type of clothes that all the girls did. It was so cute to watch all of them dance together, seven 4 year olds :). She has been practicing dancing for months at home it's good to finally see her do it outside with others like her.
F has been doing workbooks and reading a lot the past week, as well as doing math. We have been working on weight (portioning the 3 pound tuna that dh bought from work) and money, as well as subtraction which he needs practice doing.
Yesterday we also went to visit my SIL and her kids and her grandson I, who is 4. The kids love him and they all played together for a few hours before J's dance class. We made plans for F to spend the night one night in the coming weeks, this will be his first time sleeping away from home (grandma's house doesn't count). He is excited and so is I who needs more kids around him :). It should be good for him to really get to know his family better.
