Father and Son day

It's amazing what a little undivided attention can do for a kid. F has been having a great time with his father this weekend, Thursday his father came home at 8 pm and took him out for a little while to his cousin's house, yesterday they went out for a few hours and bought his new bike helmet and just spent time together. Today they just completed the Home Depot Kid's Workshop, they built a wooden roller coaster car together. F has been so happy and more laid back. He loves to build things and spend time with his father. Now they are on their way to Queens to visit his father's work place. I like for him to be exposed to all different kinds of jobs and possibilities for his future.
Thursday we really didn't do so much as far as actual 'school' because we went to the dentist and then to the supermarket. All that took 4 hours.... F did do a little math as far as trying to figure out how much the bananas and grapes will cost. we also have been reading the Inca Ice Maiden book for a few nights now. we wrote a letter to F's grandpa(my father) in Europe, he is learning Hungarian so I thought it'd be a good idea to write to him in my native language. He was very open to it, A drew him a picture and J made him a card.
He is also been busy counting his money :), he has started to receive his allowance again after a few weeks of nothing, because he hasn't been cleaning his room. If you don't do the work you don't get paid, how's that for a life lesson? Lol :), tomorrow is Easter so we have a lot of getting ready for, food to buy, house to clean.
I printed out some pages on Easter in different countries so we will be reading that later on today.
The girls have been enjoying some mommy time also the past few days as well, we have been reading and playing a little. A now knows all of her colors, and J is learning Spanish right along with F. I think she is picking it up a little better than him.
Practice, practice, she practices more than him......
I'm very proud of my kids and all they have learned the past 6 months that we have been home schooling.
