We have been taking it easy with the home schooling this week... I think the weather is getting to us :)
But F has been doing math pages, and reading about the Civil War and abt. Harriet Tubman a little. He also made a paper hat like the one Abe Lincoln had... we read about George Washington too.
I bought a few board games and puzzles on line for the kids and we got them a few days ago, F and I played the Civil War card game from the Professor Noggin series the day it came. F won :) I like those card games.
I got a dinosaur puzzle what is glow in the dark, you can see their skeletons light up so of course the girls had to make it and then turn off all the lights in the house...it's cool
J has been really into reading, we sit and read a few books usually every day. She has started to point out the letters in some short words and then read it "B I G" big, mommy.... I am so amazed that it comes easy to her. She has taken to reading street signs "M I L K" then she'll ask me what they mean. So far she knows stop, go and big. I know for now that she is recognizing these words from sight and not sounding them out. But it's OK with me as long as she is interested and learning. The kids have also been asking lots of questions about the human body, J especially is interested in where everything is inside the body and what they do. I got a puzzle that shows the inside of the body and they have been looking at the poster that comes with it. I love this curiosity and that I am here to answer their questions.
